Building Exposure & Awareness for National Ballroom Dance Competitions
In 2018, Mark Brock and Bill Sparks came to Your People LLC, seeking help in building exposure and awareness for their ballroom dance competitions in Detroit, Savannah, Georgia, and Cincinnati. We embarked on a whirlwind tour of media pitching in three vibrant cities, focused around the beautiful and exciting possibilities within ballroom dance.
We began with the Michigan Dance Challenge, achieving media coverage across TV, radio, and print, to share the stories of Michigan’s largest ballroom dance competition. Next we embarked on building relationships and connections in Savannah, Georgia, to tell the story of this smaller but vibrant ballroom dance competition in that Southern city.
Finally, we worked tirelessly to get to know Cincinnati media folks, pitching TV, radio and print and securing coverage in all mediums toward sharing the story of a growing Cincinnati Ballroom Classic. In each city, we built new connections and shared inspiring stories about how dance changes lives.
While we don’t typically take on media relations-only clients, we made an exception in this case because we believed in the importance of connecting people around positive endeavors that promote spirit and boost confidence.
The client was pleased with the abundant outcomes we achieved in each city, securing a wealth of coverage that built traffic and attention to their events.
“Both Mark and I appreciate Your People LLC’s fine work that enabled us to connect to the viewers and community of Cincinnati in so many medias. Plus, their unwavering commitment and timeliness in all things, ensuring our story would be seen and told.”
